It stars Sonya Yoncheva as Luisa, and Piotr Beczala as Rodolfo, the lover she is forced to betray. Both artists make role debuts in this production. Singing Luisa’s father, Miller, Plácido Domingo also adds a new role to his repertoire – the 149th of his legendary career.

Airs Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 12 noon. The 2017-18 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with Puccini’s La Bohème, the most-performed opera in Met history. The acclaimed stars are soprano Sonya Yoncheva, who plays the fragile Mimì, and tenor Michael Fabiano, who sings the role of the poet Rodolfo. They are joined by soprano Susanna Phillips as the coquettish Musetta, with baritone Lucas Meachem as her lover Marcello. Marco Armiliato conducts the performance.

Airs Saturday, January 27, 2018, at 12 noon. The 2017-18 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with Puccini’s thrilling drama Tosca. Soprano Sonya Yoncheva stars as the jealous but devout diva Floria Tosca, opposite tenor Vittorio Grigolo as her lover, the artist Mario Cavaradossi. Baritone Željko Lučić is the villainous Scarpia. Emmanuel Villaume conducts the opera in a new production by Sir David McVicar. Tosca will be heard live over Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 12:00 noon CT on Saturday, January 27.

The 2013-14 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season begins with a live broadcast of Verdi’s Rigoletto, starring baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky in his first company performances of the title role. Tenor Matthew Polenzani co-stars as the Duke, and two artists make their network broadcast debuts: Bulgarian soprano Sonya Yoncheva, who sings Gilda, and Spanish conductor Pablo Heras-Casado.
