Airs Thursday, September 11 at 11 a.m. When conductor Gustavo Dudamel brings the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela (SBSOV) to Carnegie Hall as the culmination of a two-week, five-city tour, many of its 200 musicians will have traveled a long way from desperate poverty and crime.

Aired Friday, April 4 at 10 a.m. Kermit Poling talks with classical guitarist Jason Vieaux about his performance with the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra which takes place Saturday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. at Riverview Theatre in Shreveport. Jose Luis Castillo will be the guest conductor for this concert.

The acclaimed composer, musician, performer, and professor Elbio Barilari is the host and creative force behind this series. He invites listeners to enjoy and learn about the lively and compelling sounds of Latin American classical music. On this weeks program we'll hear "Dia de los Muertos," a musical exploration of the Day of the Dead! Music by Revueltas, his Noche de Jaranas; Ortiz's Altar de Neon; Revueltas' Colorines; and Aguila's Conga-Line in Hell.
