Airs Saturday, February 13, at 12 p.m. The 2015-16 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Verdi’s Il Trovatore, starring soprano Angela Meade as the noblewoman Leonora and tenor Marcello Giordani in the title role of the troubadour Manrico. Mezzo-soprano Dolora Zajick sings her signature role of the mysterious gypsy Azucena, with Spanish baritone Juan Jesús Rodríguez making his Met broadcast debut as the Count di Luna, Manrico’s rival, and bass Kwangchul Youn as Ferrando, the captain of the guard.

Airs Saturday, January 10 at 12 noon.  The 2014-15 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Verdi’s tragedy Aida. Soprano Tamara Wilson makes her network broadcast debut as the Ethiopian princess Aida, opposite tenor Marcello Giordani as the Egyptian warrior Radamès. Violeta Urmana, who sang Aida with the company in 2009 and 2012, makes her first Met appearances as the Egyptian princess Amneris, and George Gagnidze returns to the role of Aida's father, Amonasro. Marco Armiliato conducts. Aida will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 12:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, January 10.

Airs Saturday, December 28 at 12 noon. The 2013-14 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Puccini’s Tosca, starring soprano Sondra Radvanovsky in the title role. Tenor Marcello Giordani is Tosca’s lover, the artist and revolutionary Cavaradossi, and baritone George Gagnidze is the corrupt police chief, Scarpia. Marco Armiliato leads this performance of Puccini’s celebrated tragedy. Tosca will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network.

Airs Saturday, March 16 at 12 noon.  The 2012-13 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Zandonai’s Francesca da Rimini. Riccardo Zandonai’s opera, based on an episode from Dante’s Inferno, has its first company performances since 1986 this season. Soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek stars as the beautiful noblewoman Francesca; tenor Marcello Giordani is Paolo, the man she loves at first sight; baritone Mark Delavan is Paolo’s brother Gianciotto, to whom Francesca is unhappily married; tenor Robert Brubaker is the jealous Malatestino; and Marco Armiliato conducts his first Met performances of the opera, which is presented in Piero Faggioni’s grand 1984 production. Francesca da Rimini will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 12 p.m. CT on Saturday, March 16. 

Airs Saturday, February 25 at 12:00 noon.   The 2011-2012 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Verdi’s Ernani, featuring an acclaimed cast. The rising young American soprano Angela Meade is Elvira; Marcello Giordani is her beloved, the bandit Ernani; and Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Ferruccio Furlanetto play her noble suitors, Carlo and Silva. Ernani will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 12 p.m. CST on Saturday, February 25.
