Airs Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 3 p.m. One of the most renowned and beloved singers of the 20th century, American soprano Leontyne Price rose to superstardom at a time when African-American artists were only just beginning to achieve major recognition in the operatic world. Price, who turns 90 in February, is celebrated by Roger Pines, broadcast commentator for Lyric Opera of Chicago, in a tribute covering her life and career in depth.

Airs Saturday, October 1, at 12 noon. This week the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and Chorus are featured in Francis Poulenc's Dialogues Of The Carmelites staring Leontyne Price as Madame Lidoine, Virginia Zeani as Mother Marie, with Betsy Norden as Sister Constance, Régine Crespin as Madame de Croissy, Carol Vaness as Blance, Howard Hensel as Chevalier de la Force, and Eric Halfvarson as Marquis de la Force. Henry Lewis conducts the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and Chorus with stage direction from John Dexter and the chorus master is Richard Bradshaw.

Airs Saturday, December 26, at 3 p.m. Naomi Lewin presents an hour of Christmas and holiday music from the world of opera and ratorio sung by some of the greatest singers past and present including Marilyn Horne, Leontyne Price, Bryn Terfel, Thomas Hampson, Joan Sutherland and more.

Met Music Director James Levine conducts an all-star cast led by soprano Leontyne Price as Leonora, tenor Plácido Domingo as Don Alvaro, baritone Cornell MacNeil as Don Carlo, mezzo-soprano Rosalind Elias as Preziosilla, baritone Renato Capecchi as Melitone, and bass Martti Talvela as the Padre Guardiano. La Forza del Destino will be heard over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 12 p.m. CT on Saturday, March 23.
