Airs Monday, April 6, at 1 p.m. Violinist Itzhak Perlman and Klezmer Conservatory Band founder Hankus Netsky join WCRB's James David Jacobs to share music and memories of Passover from diverse traditions.  The gathering together of Jews every springtime to retell the story of their flight from Egypt might be the longest-running yearly cultural event in the history of humankind, and one that has inspired many different musical traditions.

Airs Monday, December 2 at 2 p.m. Host James David Jacobs joins together with violinist Itzhak Perlman and the New England Conservatory’s Hankus Netsky, a pioneer in the revival of klezmer music, to explore the musical common ground of Jewish sacred music from diverse cultures. Featuring performances by Itzhak Perlman in new, unique arrangements by Netsky, the director of NEC’s acclaimed Contemporary Improvisation department and the founder of the world-renowned Klezmer Conservatory Band.
