Airs Monday, September 8 at 11 a.m. On this week’s Pittsburgh Symphony Radio broadcast, YouTube sensation Valentina Lisitsa returns to Heinz Hall to perform the Grieg Piano Concerto. Orchestra favorite Yan Pascal Tortelier conducts Ravel’s Rhapsodie Espagnole and Elgar’s concert overture “In the South.” Also, “Sidereus” by Argentinian composer Osvaldo Golijov. Jim Cunningham will host this Pittsburgh Symphony Radio, from Public Radio International.

Airs Monday, September 2 at 11 a.m. This week on the San Francisco Symphony maestro Vasily Petrenko will be joined on stage by violinist Joshua Bell for a stellar performance of Glazunov's Violin Concerto in A minor, Op. 82. The concert will open with the Festive Overture by Shostakovich and concludes with Elgar's Symphony No. 1 in A-flat Major, Op. 55.

Airs Saturday, August 10 at 2 p.m.  This week on the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival pianist Jeremy Denk joins the Tokyo String Quartet for a performance of Edward Elgar's Piano Quintet in A Minor, Opus 84. The concert will open with J.S. Bach's Concerto for Violin and Oboe in C Minor, BWV 1060 featuring William Preucil as violinist and Robert Ingliss on oboe.
