Airs Monday, November 16, at 1 p.m. On this week's broadcast concert by the San Francisco Symphony violinist Gil Shaham joins the orchestra for the intimates yet international concert for violin No. 2 by Prokofiev as well as music inspired by the Indonesian Gamelan in Britten's Excerpts from The Prince of the Pagodas. The program opens iwth the sound of Gamelan in a traditional work titled Lelambatan Tabuh Pat Jagul and we conclude the concert with Three Places in New England by Charles Ives. 

Airs Tuesday, April 22 at 9 p.m. We’re celebrating Jazz Appreciation Month in April with Jazz at Lincoln Center and Guitar master Bill Frisell. He'll explore the roots of American musical style in works by George Gershwin, William Billings, Stephen Foster, and Charles Ives in “Gershwin & Beyond”.  Frisell is joined by Sam Amidon, Jason Moran, and vocalist Alicia Hall Moran to interpret the backbone of our nation’s musical legacy. The first concert is Sunday, March 30 at 3 p.m and the second will take place on Thursday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m.
