BLUE DOG ARTIST BOOK - Wendy Rodrigue has written a book about her late husband, the Louisiana artist George Rodrigue famous for his Blue-Dog & Cajun Art paintings. She has graciously donated two books that are autographed to be given away during our pledge drive on Red River Radio, Thursday, December 7, 2017, at 7 p.m. and Friday, December 8, 2017, at 9 a.m. as part of our December pledge Drive. The dust has settled and we made our goal of 600 contributions and 1,800 backpacks, 1000 more than last year.  We also rose a little over $30,000 for Red River Radio.  Thanks to all who pitched in to help during our backpack campaign.

Airs Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at 8 p.m. Guitarist Steve Howell along with guest artist Dan Sumner join hosts Wally Derleth and Bill Beckett for a live show on Red River Radio. Howell presents a delicate blend of roots music from country, blues and rockabilly to torch songs, all from the Great American Songbook. In 2011, his CD "Since I Saw You Last" was awarded the Historical Significance Award from the Academy of Texas Music. Support live, local music on the radio.
