John Lennon: The Final Interview

Airs Friday, May 24 at 9 p.m.  The Final Interview, a Radio Special is a 2-hour radio special centers on John Lennon’s last radio interview, along with Yoko, recorded at the Dakota in New York City, only hours before Lennon’s death on December 8, 1980. The special is mixed with music from the Lennon’s solo work, the Double Fantasy album, as well as songs from The Beatles.

Airs Friday, May 17 at 9 p.m. This week on the Caravan we have new music by the Secret Sisters and The Black Swans as well as tunes by Robert Deeble, John Trudell, and Alex De Grassi. On Blues at the Bottom, something old from Billy Holiday and something new from James Cotton, plus Joe Pug and Charles Brown. Then, in our concert hour, Dave Brubeck at the 2009 New Port Jazz Festival. On Be Quiet and Play the Music we'll wander into the Great Impossible. Airs Friday, May 10 at 9 p.m. Join us for another adventure on the Caravan this Friday when we'll listen to some new tracks from Ben Folds Five, Myshkin's Ruby Warbler, and Mia Dyson as well as some vintage cuts from Neil Young and Victoria Williams. We'll have Blues by Buddy Flett, Etta Baker, Bobby Rush, and Chris Belleau and a splash of Zydeco from Beau Jocque and The Zydeco Hi Rollers. On our concert hour we'll hear from Chris Smither ... Airs Friday, April 26 at 9 p.m. This week on the Caravan we'll have new music from Heather Maloney and One Mile and Hour, a classic by Crosby Stills Nash & Young, and George Thorogood recorded Live in Boston. We'll also have music by Luther Allison, Mavis Staples, and Michael Futreal and during our second hour we take a road trip to Marshall Texas for some street music and then sit down with Texas Native Son Nick Brumley for a little chat and some music in our studios.
