Louisiana's Tax Revenue: Who Pays and How Much

LOUISIANA TAX REVENUES: Louisiana has begun a new fiscal year that started July 1st.  Much has been made of the state’s budget situation and come next July 1st in 2018,  the state’s one-cent sales tax will disappear and unless state lawmakers act,  there will be a $1 billion-dollar PLUS  fiscal cliff so-to-speak.  With this mind,  it may be worth to understand what revenues the state relies on to deal with such things. 

Chuck Smith brings more than 30 years' broadcast and media experience to Red River Radio. He began his career as a radio news reporter and transitioned to television journalism and newsmagazine production. Chuck studied mass communications at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia and motion picture / television production at the University of California at Los Angeles. He has also taught writing for television at York Technical College in Rock Hill, South Carolina and video / film production at Centenary College of Louisiana, Shreveport.
