Disaster and cyber security forums set for Bossier City

Disaster preparation and cyber security will be addressed in two public forums set for two Thursdays in a row in Bossier City.

The Community Foundation of North Louisiana and several partnering groups want the public to be vigilant during times of crisis.

The forums are titled “Preparing for Disaster and Other Acts of Terrorism” and “Preparing for Cyber Security.”

The speakers will draw from homeland security and emergency preparedness offices in Caddo and Bossier parishes, along with the Bossier and Caddo police chiefs.

The author of “Cybersecurity for Everyone: Securing Your Home or Small Business,” Terence Sadler, is also set to speak.

The one-hour forums are set for Thursday, Feb. 11 and 18 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Bossier City Civic Center, 620 Benton Rd.

According to a news release from the Community Foundation, these forums will provide safety tips for reacting to an act of terrorism or a cyber breach.

The forums are cosponsored by The Times, Cyber Innovation Center, and the City of Bossier City.
