A Beautiful World: Rebels, Renegades and Wild Women

A Beautiful World LOGO

Airs Sunday, March 18, 2018, at 6 p.m. “Well-behaved women seldom make history - Laurel Thatcher Ulrich.” Women throughout history have broken the rules and stepped outside conventional social norms to make history happen. We investigate three women who stand out as the rebels of their time.

A Beautiful World is a Solutions Journalism News Program that focuses on inspirational stories and ideas from around the globe. For Women’s History Month we are producing one of our most exciting shows ever! With our current airwaves roiling in female victimization stories, what we need now is to hear stories about powerful women throughout history who were strong leaders, strategic warriors and ultimately victorious. Women like suffragette Susan B. Anthony, female samurai Tomoe Gozen, animal rights activist Jane Goodall, first African American female astronaut Mae Jemison, and all the women in the amazing kids book series “Rebel Girls.” These women remind us that Women are intelligent, strong, resourceful and can powerfully affect the world around them.
