Actress Karen Carlson Conducts Actors Workshop This Friday

KAREN CARLSON is an accomplished actress from Shreveport, LA

Karen Carlson left her hometown of Shreveport, LA and headed to Hollywood to break into show business.  She first landed parts in variety shows with Bob Hope,  James Garner,  Phyliss Diller and Red Skeleton and moved up to get cast in television programs and major motion pictures.  Her "big-break" came when she was cast in "THE CANDIDATE" playing opposite Robert Redford as his wife.  This experience would establish the model for her acting career.  She visits Centenary College in Shreveport to conduct an actors workshop Friday afternoon,  November 11, 2016.

THE CANDIDATE - Shreveport actress Karen Carlson played the wife of Robert Redford in this famous film that shows an unflattering view of a gubernatorial campaign.

Chuck Smith brings more than 30 years' broadcast and media experience to Red River Radio. He began his career as a radio news reporter and transitioned to television journalism and newsmagazine production. Chuck studied mass communications at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia and motion picture / television production at the University of California at Los Angeles. He has also taught writing for television at York Technical College in Rock Hill, South Carolina and video / film production at Centenary College of Louisiana, Shreveport.
