The Green Agora would transform a Natchitoches warehouse into a green building.
A Natchitoches, La.-based businesswoman aims to open a business incubator in the town, which will include a marketplace for fresh produce and cottage industries. Donna Isaacs launched a fundraising campaign this week to renovate a warehouse in Natchitoches. It would be home to what she calls “The Green Agora.”
"It's based on the concept of the Greek public square and the center of the community," Isaacs said. "Not only were ideas and individuals nurtured, but so were businesses."
Baton Rouge native Peggy Sweeney-McDonald created a series of food monologue events called “Meanwhile, Back at Café Du Monde… Life Stories About Food.” She’s turned the concept into a book that includes Shreveport personalities. She'll hold a book signing at Barnes & Noble in Shreveport on Nov. 15, beginning at 6 p.m.

A DreamWorks Animation Thanksgiving weekend blockbuster is premiering at the Strand Theatre in downtown Shreveport. “Rise of the Guardians” is the inspiration of Shreveport writer and illustrator Bill Joyce who begs the question: Could Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy be friends?
Joyce will walk the red carpet in his hometown at a venue he considers to be hallowed ground for cinematic dreams, the Strand Theatre. It’s where he saw movies as a child.
