Airs Saturday, November 14, at 12 noon. This week from the Glimmerglass Opera we present Verdi's Cato in Utica staring Thomas Michael Allen as Cato, John Holiday as Caesar, Megan Samarin as Marzia, and Eric Jurenas as Arbace, with Allegra De Vita as Fulvio and Sarah Mesko as Emilia. Tazewell Thompson directs and Ryan Brown leads the Glimmerglass Festival orchestra and chorus.

This week we take you to the Glimmerglass Festival for performance of Verdi's Macbeth starring Eric Owens in the title role and Melody Moore as Lady Macbeth, with Michael Brandenburg in the role of Macduff, Marco D. Cammarota as Malcolm, and Soloman Howard as Banquo. This production also features Nathan Milholin as the Servant, Mithra Mastropierro as the Lady-in-waiting, Derrell Acon as Assassin, Hunter Enoch as Herald, Nathan Milholin as the Doctor, and Rhys Lloyd Talbot, Vanessa Becerra, and Jasmine Habersham as Apparitions.

Airs Saturday, September 26, at 12 noon. This week on the San Francisco Opera Nicola Luisotti will lead the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and Chorus in a production of Giuseppe Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera starring Ramón Vargas as Riccardo, Julianna Di Giacomo as Amelia, Heidi Stober as Oscar, and Thomas Hampson as Renato, with Dolora Zajick as Ulrica, Scott Conner as Tommaso, Christian Van Horn as Samuele, and Efrain Solis in the role of Silvano. The Judge will be played by A.J.

Airs Saturday, April 11, at 12 noon. The 2014-15 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Verdi’s sweeping historical tragedy Don Carlo, conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the dynamic maestro who led the 2010 Met premiere of Nicholas Hytner’s production. Yonghoon Lee portrays the conflicted title hero, with Barbara Frittoli as Elisabeth de Valois, the woman he loves; Ferruccio Furlanetto as his father and rival, the imposing King Philip II; Ekaterina Gubanova as the jealous Princess Eboli; Dmitri Hvorostovsky as Rodrigo, Don Carlo’s friend and ally; and James Morris as the menacing Grand Inquisitor. Don Carlo will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 12:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, April 11.

Airs Saturday, April 4, at 12 noon. The 2014-15 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Verdi’s early opera Ernani. Met Music Director James Levine conducts his first company performances of the opera in more than 30 years, with Plácido Domingo as Carlo, King of Spain – a baritone part he has added to his vast repertoire this season. Italian tenor Francesco Meli sings the title role of the bandit Ernani, opposite American soprano Angela Meade in one of her most acclaimed roles, Elvira, and Ukrainian bass Dmitry Belosselskiy is Silva, Ernani’s rival. Ernani will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 12:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, April 4.
