Texas Avenue history comes to life through mobile app

The head of the Texas Avenue Community Association, April Dahm, has been gathering content for the mobile app for eight months.

A new mobile app called Texas Avenue Speaks tells the rich history of the Texas Avenue corridor in Shreveport. The multimedia history tour uses maps, images, audio and video to chronicle the area from 1839 -- Shreveport's incorporation -- to present day. The Texas Avenue Community Association created the downloadable app for Apple mobile devices through a grant from the Beaird Family Foundation.
