Airs Saturday, December 16, 2017, at 12 noon. The 2017-18 Metropolitan Opera radio broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Bellini’s Norma, starring Angela Meade and Jamie Barton, who reprise their acclaimed interpretations of the Druid priestess Norma and her rival Adalgisa. The performance also features Joseph Calleja as Norma’s unfaithful lover Pollione and Matthew Rose as her father Oroveso, conducted by Joseph Colaneri, in a production by Sir David McVicar that opened the Met season in the fall.

Airs Saturday, July 9, at 12 noon. In our final season performance from the Lyric Opera of Chicago we'll hear Antonin Dvorák's Rusalka staring Ana María Martínez in the title role and Brandon Jovanovich as the Prince, with Jill Grove as Jezibaba, Eric Owens as Vodnik, and Ekaterina Gubanova as Foreign Princess. Sir David McVicar directs, Michael Black is our chorus master and Sir Andrew Davis leads the Lyric OperaOrchestr and Chorus in this performance.

Airs Saturday, June 4, at 12 noon. This week the Lyric Opera of Chicago presents Alban Berg's Wozzeck with Tomasz Koniecnzy in the lead role and Angela Denoke as Marie. The production also features Gerhard Siegel as The Captain, Stefan Vinke as Drum Major, and Brindley Sherratt as The Doctor. Sir David McVicar directs and Michael Black is the Chorus Master and Sir Andrew Davis conducts the Lyric Opera orchestra and chorus.

The 2014-15 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of the enduringly popular verismo double bill of Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana and Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci. The performance is led by Met Principal Conductor Fabio Luisi. Marcelo Álvarez stars in both operas, as the faithless Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana and the heartbroken clown Canio in Pagliacci.

Lyric Opera Of Chicago

Airs Saturday, July 5 at 12 noon.  This week we present the final performance from the Lyric Opera of Chicago 2014 season with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's La Clemenza Di Tito (in Italian) featuring Matthew Polenzani as Tito with Joyce DiDonato as Sesto, Amanda Majeski as Vitellia, Cecelia Hall as Anno, Emily Birsan as Servilia, and Christian Van Horn as Publio. Sir David McVicar directs and Sir Andrew Davis will lead the cast, Orchestra and Chorus of the Lyric Opera of Chicago in this performance.
