Airs Monday, December 9 at 11 a.m.  This week on the San Francisco Symphony, conductor Herbert Blomstedt will be joined by pianist Garrick Ohlsson for the Piano Concerto No. 9 in E-Flat Major by Mozart. Then maestro Blomstedt will lead the orchestra in the Symphony No. 5 by Tchaikovsky and the Symphony No. 3 by Sibelius.

Airs Monday, November 11 at 11 a.m. On this week's concert by the San Francisco Symphony, Esa-Pekka Salonen will take the podium and lead the orchestra in music by Sibelius, Salonen, Wagner and Schoenberg. The concert opens with Sibelius' Pohjola's Daughter, Op. 49 and then violinist Leila Josefowcz joines the orchestra for the Violin concerto by Salonen. Soprano Christine Brewer will then be featured in excerpts from Wagner's opera Gotterdammerung and the program concludes with the Five Pieces for Orchestra by Arnold Schoenberg.

Aired Friday, September 20 at 11:00 p.m. Kermit Poling spoke with music director Michael Butterman and violinist Jennifer Koh about the opening concert in the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra's new season. The concert features Sibelius' Finlandia and his Violin Concerto as well as the Symphony No. 1 by Brahms.

Airs Monday, June 17 at 11 a.m. Join the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra this Monday Morning at 11 a.m. when Yan Pascal Tortelier takes the podium for a concert featuring Jean Sibelius’ Symphony No. 1 and Morton Gould’s Spirituals for Orchestra. We'll also hear Maurice Ravel’s Kaddish for Cello and String Orchestra with cellist Anne Martindale Williams and Ernest Bloch’s “Nigun” from Baal Shem.

Airs Monday, May 20 at 11 a.m. This week on the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra conductor  Manfred Honeck is joined by violinist Nikolaij Znaider for a performance of the Violin Concerto by Jean Sibelius. Also on the program Steven Stucky’s Silent Spring and the Symphony No. 6, “Pathetique” by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
