Airs Monday, November 11 at 11 a.m. On this week's concert by the San Francisco Symphony, Esa-Pekka Salonen will take the podium and lead the orchestra in music by Sibelius, Salonen, Wagner and Schoenberg. The concert opens with Sibelius' Pohjola's Daughter, Op. 49 and then violinist Leila Josefowcz joines the orchestra for the Violin concerto by Salonen. Soprano Christine Brewer will then be featured in excerpts from Wagner's opera Gotterdammerung and the program concludes with the Five Pieces for Orchestra by Arnold Schoenberg.

Airs Monday, November 4 at 11 a.m. This week on the San Francisco Symphony music director Michael Tilson Thomas takes the podium once again and will be joined by Gil Shaham for a performance of the Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 77 by Brahms.  The concert opens with the Prelude to Act III of Lohengrin by Wagner and also features Schoenberg's arrangement of the Brahms Piano Quartet no. 1 in g, op. 25 and the Variations on a Theme of Haydn by Brahms to close out the program.

Airs Monday, October 7 at 11 a.m.  On this week's concert by the San Francisco Symphony, soprano Jane Archibald and bass-baritone Kyle Ketelsen join the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra and Chorus for the A German Requiem by Johannes Brahms. The concert opens with Ich bin ein rechter Weinstock by Heinrich Schutz and also features Five Pieces for Orchestra by Arnold Schoenberg.

This week on the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, the Tokyo String Quartet will present Haydn's String Quartet No. 27 in D Major, Op. 20, and then the Festival Chamber Ensemble takes on Schoenberg's Chamber Symphony No. 2 in E-flat Minor. Kerry Frumkin will host this week's concert from the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival on Red River Radio.

Airs Saturday, August 17 at 2 p.m. This week on the Santa Fe Chamber Music concert violinist Benny Kim, cellist Lynn Harrel and pianist Jeremy Denk perform Beethoven's Piano Trio in C Minor, Op. 1, No. 3 and conductor Alan Gilbert leads a chamber ensemble in Schoenberg's Chamber Symphony No. 1 in E Major, Op. 9.
