This production stars Victoria Livengood as the Woman with Hat, Kristinn Sigmendsson as Louis XVI, Scott Scully as the Marquis, Patricia Racette as Marie Antoinette, and special guest artist Patti Lapone as Samira.

Airs Saturday, January 3 at 12 noon.  The 2014-15 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel. The performance, sung in English and presented as part of the Met's holiday series, stars soprano Heidi as Gretel; mezzo-soprano Christine Rice in her network broadcast debut as Hansel; tenor Robert as the wicked Witch who captures them; and Michaela Martens and Dwayne Croft as the parents of the wayward children; Sir Andrew Davis conducts. Hansel and Gretel was the opera that inaugurated the Met's long-running series of live matinee radio broadcasts, on Christmas Day, 1931. Hansel and Gretel will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 12:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, January 3.

Airs Saturday, July 26 at 12 noon. In honor of Verdi’s 200th birthday, LA Opera presents a new production of the crowning glory of the composer’s magnificent career, his comic masterpiece Falstaff. LA Opera Music Director James Conlon, praised internationally for his mastery of Verdi, conducts this unabashed celebration of Merrie Olde England’s lusty days and bawdy nights, starring Italian baritone Roberto Frontali.
