Kai Ryssdal will be interviewing President Obama for this evening's Marketplace broadcast. Kai will chat with President Obama at the Copper Mountain Solar facility in Boulder Hills, Nevada. In addition to talking about energy policy and high gas prices, they will touch on many aspects of the economy: jobs, the budget, housing, average Americans, banks and the politics of economic policy. With Kai in Nevada, Tess Vigeland will be stepping in to host the show.

Facing into an election year, the President is expected to continue pushing Congress on his economic agenda. This will be President Obama's last State of the Union Address of his White House term as he heads into the 2012 presidential election campaign. NPR will also carry the GOP response which will be given by Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels.
