Airs Monday, August 3, at 1 p.m. This week on the San Francisco Symphony, pianist Daniil Trifonov joins maestro Osmo Vänskä for Rachmaninoff's tribute to one of music most chrarismatic entities and a performance of the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. Maestro Vänskä will open with a performance of Night Ride and Sunrise by Sibelius and you'll also hear the Symphonies of Wind Instruments (1947 version) by Stravinsky, the Symphony No. 6 by Sibelius, and from the archive we'll hear a performance of Haydn's Symphony No. 60 in C major, Il distratto.

Airs Friday, May 15, at 7 p.m. On Friday, May 15, Osmo Vänskä will lead the Minnesota Orchestra in a concert of Beethoven masterworks that will prominently feature Cuban artists. In addition to Beethoven’s Overture to Egmont and Eroica Symphony, they’ll be joined by the Cuban National Choir, Coro Vocal Leo and pianist Frank Fernandez for Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy. Encores are expected.

Airs Monday, February 3 at 11 a.m. On This week's concert by the San Francisco Symphony Osmo Vanska takes the podium and will be joined by violinist Hilary Hahn for the Violin Concerto No. 1 in D major by Prokofiev. To open the concert we'll hear Minea by Aho and the Symphony No. 6 in B minor by Shostakovich will close the program.
