Join us for this Opening Night Gala, recorded live at Carnegie Hall with pianist Evgeny Kissin featured as solosit in the Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat Minor by Tchaikovsky. Alan Gilbert leads the orchestra in the concert which will also feature the World Premiere of Lindberg's Vivo, co-commissioned by Carnegie Hall, along with Ravel's Daphnis et Chloé Suite No. 2 and Tchaikovsky's Méditation, Op. 72, No. 5.

His legacy as a perfectionist conductor of operas, orchestral music and concertos, a passionate educator of performing musicians and a devoted advocate of an enormously wide-ranging arena of composers, is discussed by distinguished artists and others who worked with him.
