Airs Saturday, May 10 at 12 noon.  The 2013-14 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season concludes with a live broadcast of Rossini’s La Cenerentola, starring mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato in her first network performance of one of her signature roles. The role of her prince, Don Ramiro, will be sung by Juan Diego Flórez, one of the world’s foremost Rossini tenors. Met Principal Conductor Fabio Luisi returns to the podium to lead his first bel canto opera with the company. The cast also includes Alessandro Corbelli as Don Magnifico, the wicked stepfather; Luca Pisaroni as the wise Alidoro; and Italian baritone Pietro Spagnoli in his network debut as Don Ramiro’s valet, Dandini. La Cenerentola will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network.

Airs Saturday, May 3 at 12 noon. The 2013-14 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Bellini’s I Puritani.  Acclaimed Russian soprano Olga Peretyatko will make her network broadcast debut as Elvira, the Puritan maiden who slips in and out of madness after being abandoned at the altar.  The revival also stars tenor Lawrence Brownlee as Elvira's beloved Arturo, baritone Mariusz Kwiecien as his rival Riccardo, and bass Michele Pertusi as Elvira's uncle, Giorgio; they are led by the rising Italian conductor Michele Mariotti, who is married to Peretyatko.  I Puritani will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network.

Airs Saturday, April 26 at 12 noon. The 2013-14 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Mozart’s comic opera Così fan tutte, conducted by Met Music Director James Levine. It features an ensemble cast: Susanna Phillips as Fiordiligi, Isabel Leonard as her sister Dorabella, Danielle de Niese as their feisty maid, Despina, Matthew Polenzani as Ferrando, Rodion Pogossov as Guglielmo, and Maurizio Muraro as the cynical Don Alfonso. Così fan tutte will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network.

Airs Saturday, April 19 at 12 noon. The 2013-14 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Richard Strauss’s elegant romance Arabella.   Philippe Auguin conducts a cast full of debuting artists.  Swedish soprano Malin Byström, who made a notable Met debut in Gounod’s Faust two seasons ago, sings the role of the levelheaded, yet idealistic Arabella.  German baritone Michael Volle, a leading exponent of dramatic baritone roles in Europe, has made his Met debut this season as Arabella's suitor Mandryka.  Also new to the Met this season are soprano Juliane Banse, who sings the role of Arabella's sister Zdenka, tenor Roberto Saccà as Matteo, and bass-baritone Martin Winkler as Count Waldner. Arabella will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network.

The 2013-14 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Giordano’s Andrea Chénier.  Gianandrea Noseda conducts the verismo tragedy, which stars tenor Marcelo Álvarez in the title role of the real-life poet executed during the Reign of Terror; soprano Patricia Racette as his love, the aristocrat Maddalena; and baritone Željko Lučić as Carlo Gérard, the former servant turned revolutionary.  Andrea Chénier will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network.
