Airs Saturday, February 22 at 12 noon. The 2013-14 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier, heard in an archival broadcast from earlier this season. Edward Gardner leads the cast that features Viennese soprano Martina Serafin in one of her signature roles, the Marschallin. Mezzo-soprano Alice Coote sings the trouser role of the Marschallin’s young lover, Octavian, while soprano Erin Morley is Sophie, the innocent young woman who comes between the two.

The 2013-14 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with an archival broadcast of Richard Strauss’s Die Frau ohne Schatten from last fall, conducted by Vladimir Jurowski and featuring two highly acclaimed performances from the leading sopranos: Anne Schwanewilms in her network broadcast debut as the Empress; and Christine Goerke, who has recently emerged as a major dramatic soprano, singing the role of the Dyer’s Wife.

Airs Saturday, February 8 at 12 noon.   The 2013-14 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Dvořák’s lyrical fairy tale Rusalka, starring Renée Fleming in one of her signature roles. Yannick Nézet-Séguin leads the cast that also includes Piotr Beczala as the Prince, Dolora Zajick as the witch Ježibaba, Emily Magee in her network broadcast debut as the Foreign Princess, and John Relyea as Rusalka’s father, the Water Gnome. Rusalka will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network.

South African soprano Amanda Echalaz, who makes her Met debut this season, sings Cio-Cio-San, opposite tenor Bryan Hymel as Pinkerton. The cast also includes mezzo-soprano Elizabeth DeShong as Suzuki and American baritone Scott Hendricks in his network broadcast debut as Sharpless, conducted by Philippe Auguin. Madama Butterfly will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network.

Airs Saturday, January 25 at 12 noon. The 2013-14 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Donizetti’s comic romance L’Elisir d’Amore. Soprano Anna Netrebko reprises her portrayal of the irresistible heroine Adina, and tenor Ramón Vargas sings the role of Nemorino, the peasant who loves her, in a cast that also includes baritone Nicola Alaimo as Sergeant Belcore and bass-baritone Erwin Schrott as Doctor Dulcamara. Maurizio Benini returns to conduct the bel canto favorite. L’Elisir d’Amore will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network.
