Airs Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 12 noon. The 2017-18 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues as Verdi’s Luisa Miller returns to the network for the first time since 2006. It stars Sonya Yoncheva as Luisa, and Piotr Beczala as Rodolfo, the lover she is forced to betray. Both artists make role debuts in this production. Singing Luisa’s father, Miller, Plácido Domingo also adds a new role to his repertoire – the 149th of his legendary career.

This week the WFMT Fine Arts Network begin a series featuring the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and Chorusunder Nicola Luisotti with a performance of Giuseppe Verdi's Luisa Miller. The cast features Leah Crocetto in the title roll with Michael Fabiano as Rodolfo, Vitaliy Bilyy as Miller, and Daniel Sumegi as Count Walter. This producion will also feature Ekaterina Semenchuk as Federica, Andrea Silvestrelli as Wurm, Jacqueline Piccolino as Laura, and Christopher Jackson as Peasant.
