***LSU Shreveport will be closed Thursday, August 30 and Friday, August 31. The University will re-open after the Labor Day holiday on Tuesday, September 4, 2012.  Check with www.lsus.edu for updates.   Due to the closure of the university, several university deadlines have been extended.
· The Last Day for 60% refund will be extended to September 5.
· The Census Date and the Last Day to Drop or Resign without a W has been extended to September 11.
· The Last Day for 40% refund will be extended to September 17.

•  Bossier Parish Schools closed Thursday.   (Friday TBA)
•  Bienville, Webster, Desoto, Lincoln Parish schools closed Thursday

• Two shelters are open in Shreveport for critical transportation needs with a total of 3,900 beds, including LSUS. Others are being prepared.
• There is a shelter open in Bastrop with 1,600 beds.
• There will be 13 Red Cross shelters with a total of 5,306 slots opening today.

Louisiana Public Broadcasting presents the television debut of its one-hour documentary, "Louisiana: 200 Years of Statehood." The Bicentennial Commission also developed a companion teacher's guide. The documentary has been screened at bicentennial celebrations around the state since April. It airs tonight at 7 p.m. on LPB.

Twenty teens from military families across Louisiana participated in a new leadership camp expressly for teenagers, put on by the LSU AgCenter's 4-H Youth Development program. Half of the teens came from central Louisiana. One activity involved making videos aimed at raising public awareness of military kids.

Airs Monday, April 30 at 9:00 p.m.  Piano Night: We look back on a night that honored the 88’s. Piano Night - every year on the Monday night between the two weekends of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage and Festival. This hour-long program includes music from Piano Heaven, a smaller stage for more intimate performances (Jessie McBride, Marco Benevento, Cynthia Chen) as well as the main stage at the House of Blues (Dr. Lonnie Smith, Victor Atkins, Bob Andrews, Tom Worrell), featuring full ensembles that change throughout the show.
