Elvis Presley memorabilia are being auctioned off this week, including rare reference recordings from the 1958 movie “King Creole.”

The Louisiana Office of Tourism and Oxford American Magazine will sponsor a series of concerts and symposiums that showcase Louisiana’s musical heritage. The tour is called the Louisiana Soundtrack Experience, and it begins Feb. 23 at Shreveport’s Municipal Auditorium. The program is titled, “From Elvis to Hank to Johnny: Celebrating 65 years of the Louisiana Hayride.” Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne said he will kick off the series in Shreveport.

The All-Star Bicentennial Birthday Bash is set for Wednesday at Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport. The evening includes a screening of the Louisiana Public Broadcasting film "Louisiana: 200 Years of Statehood," at 7 p.m. The Louisiana Hayride Jam begins at 8 p.m. The festivities are free and open to the public.
