TAX INCENTIVE ADJUSTMENTS - One of the best tools government officials have in their arsenal to attract business development in the state of Louisiana comes in the form of tax credits or tax breaks.  But some recent studies suggest that Louisiana has been too generous in the past and that verifying criteria of direct economic benefit has been too vague.    Secretary for Louisiana Economic Development,  Don Pierson explains some recent changes in the application process that  gives more input from local communities most affected by the incentives.

A handful of companies that are hiring hundreds of tech workers were handpicked to participate in a hiring event Wednesday at the Shreveport Convention Center.

Louisiana Economic Development is preparing to launch a website that will match employers that do business in the state with skilled workers. 

On Monday, state officials will make a free matchmaking employment service available for the first time to both employers and job seekers who want to know their top options.

Louisiana is the first state to build an employment site that’s inspired by the online dating platform, according to Louisiana Job Connection executive director Kristi Williams.
