Opera on the Air and a production of Giuseppe Verdi's masterpiece La Traviata staring Placido Domingo as Giorgio Germont, Nino Machaidza as Violetta Valery, and Arturo Chacon-Cruz as Alfredo Germont, with Peabody Southwell as Flora Bervoix, Brenton Ryan as Gastone, Daniel Mobbs as Baron Douphol, Daniel Armstrong as Marquis d’Obigny, Soloman Howard as Doctor Grenvil, and Vanessa Becerra in the role of Annina.

Airs Saturday, December 27 at noon. The 2014-15 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Verdi’s La Traviata. Latvian soprano Marina Rebeka, who made a notable debut as Donna Anna in the 2011 new production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni, brings her acclaimed Violetta to the Met for the first time. American tenor Stephen Costello stars opposite her as her impetuous lover Alfredo, with American baritone Quinn Kelsey as his disapproving father, Giorgio Germont, and Marco Armiliato conducts. La Traviata will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 12:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, December 27.

Airs Saturday, October 18 at 12 noon. This week on the San Francisco Opera we feature Giuseppe Verdi's masterpiece La Traviata, starring Ailyn Pérez as Violetta Valery, Saimir Pirgu as Alfredo Germont, Zanda Svede as Flora Bervoix, Dale Travis as Baron Douphol, and Hadleigh Adams as Marqius D'Obigny. This production also features Andrew Craig Brown as Doctor Grenvil, and Erin Johnson as Annina. Nicola Luisotti leads the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and Chorus and Dianne Nicolini will host.

Airs Monday, July 21 at 11 a.m. On this week's broadcast concert by the Pittsburgh Symphony music director Manfred Honeck will be joined by soprano Simona Saturova, baritone Gregg Baker, the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh, and narrator Christopher Hahn for an opera showcase featuring works by Wagner and Verdi including Richard Wagner’s Prelude to Act III from Lohengrin and Wagner’s “Siegfried’s Funeral March” from Gotterdammerung.

Airs Saturday, June 7 at 12 noon.  This week the Lyric Opera Of Chicago brings us Giuseppe Verdi's masterpiece La Traviata featuring Marina Rebeka in the role of Violetta with Joseph Calleja as Alfredo, and Quinn Kelsey as Giorgio Germont. Massimo Zanetti conducts the Lyric Opera Orchestra and Chorus in this production.
