Airs Monday, November 9, at 1 p.m. This week on the San Francisco Symphony pianist Kirill Gerstein joins guest conductor Charles Dutoit for one of Beethoven's musical calling cards, the Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat major. we'll also hear maestro Dutoit as he leads the orchestra through Dmitri Shostakovich's deconstruction of the Stalin years in his Symphony No. 10 in E minor. From the archives we'll conclude the program with a performance of The B-Sides, music by Bates.
