The 2014-15 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with the live network premiere of La Donna del Lago, Rossini's opera about romantic and political upheaval in 16th-century Scotland. The virtuoso cast is led by mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato in the title role of Elena, the "Lady of the Lake," and tenor Juan Diego Flórez as King James V, who falls in love with her. Mezzo-soprano Daniela Barcellona sings the role of Elena’s beloved Malcolm, and tenor John Osborn is the King's sworn enemy, the highland chief Rodrigo, to whom Elena is betrothed. The acclaimed young bel canto maestro Michele Mariotti conducts. La Donna del Lago will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 12:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, March 14.

The 2013-14 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season concludes with a live broadcast of Rossini’s La Cenerentola, starring mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato in her first network performance of one of her signature roles. The role of her prince, Don Ramiro, will be sung by Juan Diego Flórez, one of the world’s foremost Rossini tenors. Met Principal Conductor Fabio Luisi returns to the podium to lead his first bel canto opera with the company. The cast also includes Alessandro Corbelli as Don Magnifico, the wicked stepfather; Luca Pisaroni as the wise Alidoro; and Italian baritone Pietro Spagnoli in his network debut as Don Ramiro’s valet, Dandini. La Cenerentola will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network.
Airs Saturday, February 2 at 12 noon. The 2012-13 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Rossini’s comedy Le Comte Ory. Tenor Juan Diego Flórez will reprise his acclaimed portrayal of the amorous title character, first seen at the Met in 2011. The 27-year-old South African soprano Pretty Yende makes her network debut as Adèle, the beautiful noblewoman that Ory schemes to seduce.
