Jaap van Zweden

Airs Monday, August 17, at 1 p.m. This week from the San Francisco Symphony violinist Simone Lamsma will join conductor Jaap van Zweden for the Sibelius Violin Concerto in D minor. Opening the concert maestro Zweden will lead the orchestra in Mozart's Overture from The Abduction from the Seraglio and he'll conclude the concert with Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4 in F minor. Then, from the archives, Michael Tilson Thomas conducts the Roman Festivals by Respighi.

Airs Saturday, October 12 at 12 noon. On the next concert by the Cleveland Orchestra, Jaap van Zweden take the podium and is joined by pianist Louis Lortie for the beautiful Piano Concert No. 2 by Chopin. Then, the monumental Rachmaninoff Symphony No. 2 closes this concert.
