Airs Saturday, July 25, at 12 noon.  This week from the LA Opera it's a double bill featuring two seemingly disconnected works, Dido and Aeneas By Henry Purcell And Bluebeard’s Castle By Béla Bartók. The common thread? Tune in and find out. Steven Sloan will lead the LA Opera Orchestra and Chorus in Dido and Aeneas staring Paula Murrihy as Dido and Liam Bonner as Aeneas, with Kateryna Kasper as Belinda, John Holiday as the Sorceress, Summer Hassen as Second Lady, G. Thomas Allen as First Witch and Darryl Taylor as Second Witch.

Airs Thursday, September 4 at 11 a.m. This week on Carnegie Hall Live Bernard Haitink will be joined by pianist Murry Perahia for a performance of the Piano Concerto by Schumann. The concert opens with Purcell’s Funeral Music for Queen Mary orchestrated by Stephen Stucky and we’ll close this concert with the Symphony No. 4 by Brahms.

Airs Thursday, December 26 at 2 p.m. Celebrate Christmas this year with an exceptional program, taking us from medieval England and Germany to baroque London and Leipzig with the music of Henry Purcell and Johann Sebastian Bach. From the glorious cathedral chant, Veni Emmanuel, to Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, this program offers some of the most splendid Christmas music ever to come from northern Europe. Two renowned musical institutions band together in this Early-Music tour de force: the Choir of Christ Church Cathedral Indianapolis, directed by Dr. Dana Marsh; and the Early Music Institute of the Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University, directed by Paul Elliott.
