The American Opera Series from WFMT continues with the San Francisco Opera and a production of Gaetano Donizetti's Don Pasquale starring Maurizio Muraro in the title role with Heidi Stober as Norina, Lawrence Brownlee as Ernesto, Malatesta Lucas Meachem as the Doctor, and Bojan Knezevic as A Notary. The stage director is Laurent Pelly and Ian Robertson is the chorus master with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and Chorus under the direction of Giuseppe Finzi.

Airs Saturday, June 11, at 12 noon. This week from the Lyric Opera of Chicago we feature Franz Lehar's Merry Widow with Renee Fleming as Hannah, Thomas Hampson as Danilo, Heidi Stober as Valencienne, Michael Spyres as Camille, Patrick Carfizzi as Baron Zeta, Jonathan Johnson as St. Brioche, Paul LaRosa as Cascada and Jeff Dumas as Njegus. Susan Stroman directs, Michael Black is the chorus master and the Lyric Opera Orchestra and Chorus are under the direction of Sir Andrew Davis.

Airs Saturday, September 26, at 12 noon. This week on the San Francisco Opera Nicola Luisotti will lead the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and Chorus in a production of Giuseppe Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera starring Ramón Vargas as Riccardo, Julianna Di Giacomo as Amelia, Heidi Stober as Oscar, and Thomas Hampson as Renato, with Dolora Zajick as Ulrica, Scott Conner as Tommaso, Christian Van Horn as Samuele, and Efrain Solis in the role of Silvano. The Judge will be played by A.J.

Airs Saturday, January 3 at 12 noon.  The 2014-15 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel. The performance, sung in English and presented as part of the Met's holiday series, stars soprano Heidi as Gretel; mezzo-soprano Christine Rice in her network broadcast debut as Hansel; tenor Robert as the wicked Witch who captures them; and Michaela Martens and Dwayne Croft as the parents of the wayward children; Sir Andrew Davis conducts. Hansel and Gretel was the opera that inaugurated the Met's long-running series of live matinee radio broadcasts, on Christmas Day, 1931. Hansel and Gretel will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 12:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, January 3.

Airs Saturday, November 1 at 12 noon. This week the San Francisco Opera conclude it's season with a stellar production of Jerome Kern's Showboat starring Heidi Stober as Magnolia Hawks and Michael Todd Simpson as Gaylord Ravenal, with Bill Irwin as Cap'n Andy Hawks, Patricia Racette as Julie La Verne, Angela Renée Simpson as Queenie, Harriet Harris as Parthy Ann Hawks, Kirsten Wyatt as Ellie Mae Chipley, Morris Robinson as Joe, and John Bolton as Frank Schultz. John Demain leads the San Francisco Opera Orchstra and Chorus and Dianne Nicolini will host.
