Airs Friday, March 28, 2014. This week on the Caravan we'll start out with a folky bluesy first hour featuring tunes from Verlon Thompson & Guy Clark, Reverend Charley's Patent Medicine Show & Chris Thomas King, Buddy Flett & Hubert Sumlin, and we'll throw is some Townes Van Zandt & Pink Anderson as well. Then in our second hour we'll bring you a concert from the 2013 Newport Folk Festival featuring Old Crow Medicine Show and in our final hour we'll Bendin' Like a Willow Tree.
Airs Friday, March 21 at 9 p.m. This week on the Caravan we'll ponder the Great Compromise with music from Guy Clark, Carrie Rodriguez and Ben Kyle, Paper Moon Shiners, Buddy Flett, Donna the Buffalo, the Falls, Pierce Pettis, and a touch of Emerson, Lake & Palmer. In our concert hour Tony Trischka, Barry Mitterhoff, and Beppe Gambetta take the stage at the Fur Peace Ranch and in our final hour, we struggle against "Beauty in Fade" with tracks from Darrell Scott, Patty Griffin, John Trudell, The Eric Underwood Band, Richard Shindell and more.
Airs Friday, July 26 at 9 p.m. This week on the Caravan we have a country flavor, both traditional and a touch old school plus some Creole country music that they call Zydeco. We feature tracks from Guy Clark, a new cut from Chris Thile with Michael Daves, some Alison Krauss, and an unusual track from the Punch Brothers from my private collection of studio recordings. On Blues at the Bottom we have some country blues from Marie Nofsinger and Brad Paisley, a traditional and soulful track from Dorothy Moore and we'll have some happy feet music from Geno Delafose and Beau Jocque. On our concert hour this week we'll feature Steve Earl in a solo show at the Fur Peace Ranch, and our final hour takes us through "Love and Some Verses."
Airs Friday, February 8 at 9 p.m. This week on the Caravan we'll feature some new music from a brand new band out of England called One Mile An Hour and ethereal music for the African Kora, bass and Trumpet from Ablaye Cissoko. Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt and Chris Smither will be featured as well as Shreveport’s own Twang Darkly. Plus we have a live concert featuring Nora Jones.
