Soprano Sonya Yoncheva stars as the jealous but devout diva Floria Tosca, opposite tenor Vittorio Grigolo as her lover, the artist Mario Cavaradossi. Baritone Željko Lučić is the villainous Scarpia. Emmanuel Villaume conducts the opera in a new production by Sir David McVicar. Tosca will be heard live over Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 12:00 noon CT on Saturday, January 27.

Airs Saturday, February 4, at 12 noon. The 2016-17 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a revival of Verdi’s Rigoletto. Italian conductor Pier Giorgio Morandi makes his network broadcast debut leading baritone Željko Lučić in the title role opposite soprano Olga Peretyatko as Gilda and tenor Stephen Costello as the Duke. The broadcast also stars Oksana Volkova as Maddalena and Andrea Mastroni in his network broadcast debut as Sparafucile. Rigoletto will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 12:00 p.m.

Airs Saturday, December 17, at 12 noon. The 2016-17 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with Richard Strauss’s Salome starring Patricia Racette in the title role of the Judean princess. Racette makes a Met role debut in this production, as do her co-stars Željko Lučić as Jochanaan (John the Baptist); Nancy Fabiola Herrera as Herodias, Salome’s mother; and Gerhard Siegel as the lecherous King Herod. Chinese tenor Kang Wang makes his network broadcast debut as Narraboth, the Captain of the Guard.

This week from the Lyric Opera of Chicago they will perform Giuseppe Verdi's Nabucco featuring Zeljko Lucic in the title role with Tatiana Serjan as Abigaille, Dmitry Belosselskiy as Zaccaria, Elizabeth DeShong as Fenena, Sergey Skorokhodov as Ismaele, Stefan Szkafarowsky as the High Priest, Laura Wilde as Anna, and Jesse Donner as Abdallo. Michael Black serves as Chorus Master, Matthew Ozawa directs and the Lyric Opera Orchestra and Chorus are all under the direction of Carlo Rizzi.

Airs Saturday, April 23, at 12 noon. The 2015-16 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Verdi’s Otello. Aleksandrs Antonenko stars in the title role, one he has performed around the world to wide acclaim. He appears opposite Hibla Gerzmava, who makes her Met role debut this spring as Otello’s innocent wife Desdemona. Željko Lučić sings the part of the evil Iago, Alexey Dolgov is his pawn Cassio, and James Morris is the Venetian ambassador Lodovico. Adam Fischer conducts.
