The 2017-18 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with Donizetti’s bel canto tragedy Lucia di Lammermoor, starring soprano Olga Peretyatko-Mariotti in the iconic title role. Tenor Vittorio Grigolo stars opposite her as Lucia’s lover, Edgardo. They are joined by baritone Massimo Cavalletti as Enrico, the brother who pushes Lucia into a forced marriage, and bass Vitalij Kowaljow as the chaplain Raimondo. Roberto Abbado conducts.

Airs Saturday, February 10, 2018, at 12 noon. The 2017-18 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with Donizetti’s comedy L’Elisir d’Amore, starring South African soprano Pretty Yende as the wealthy Adina, opposite American tenor Matthew Polenzani as Nemorino, the poor villager hopelessly in love with her. Italian bass Ildebrando D’Arcangelo sings the role of Dulcamara, the quack doctor who sells Nemorino the “elixir of love,” and Italian baritone Davide Luciano makes his network broadcast debut as the cocky visiting sergeant, Belcore.

Airs Saturday, April 16, at 12 noon. The 2015-16 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Donizetti’s Roberto Devereux. Soprano Sondra Radvanovsky stars as Queen Elizabeth I of England, completing her season-long quest to sing the leading roles in all three of Donizetti’s Tudor Queen tragedies. Earlier this season, Radvanovsky gave acclaimed performances as Anne Boleyn in Anna Bolena and Mary, Queen of Scots, in Maria Stuarda.

Airs Saturday, March 19, at 12 noon. The 2015-16 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Donizetti’s beloved comedy L’Elisir d’Amore. Polish soprano Aleksandra Kurzak and Italian tenor Vittorio Grigolo star as Adina and Nemorino, whose playful romance is at the heart of the story. The cast also features Adam Plachetka as the narcissistic sergeant Belcore and Alessandro Corbelli as the charlatan Dr. Dulcamara. Conductor Enrique Mazzola leads the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and Chorus in his network broadcast debut.

Airs Saturday, March 12, at 12 noon. The 2015-16  Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Donizetti’s comedic masterpiece Don Pasquale. Baritone Ambrogio Maestri sings the title role for the first time in his career this season, alongside show-stopping tenor Javier Camarena as Pasquale’s nephew, the lovelorn Ernesto. Italian soprano Eleonora Buratto, fresh off her Met debut, is the bewitching Norina, and baritone Levente Molnár is the wily Doctor Malatesta, in a performance conducted by Maurizio Benini.
