Centenary College plans to take all freshmen to Paris

Centenary College president David Rowe announced the school's new Centenary in Paris initiative Thursday.

Incoming freshman class at Centenary College in Shreveport will begin their college career in Paris. The college has launched a new fall immersion program whereby every freshman can spend up to 10 days in Paris. The August 2014 course will begin and end on Centenary’s campus. The students will not be required to pay any additional fees or expenses for the trip. At a news conference Thursday, President David Rowe said he expects about 150 students will see the City of Light, and that experience will solidify their college career.

Centenary College freshmen put elbow grease into orientation

About 125 incoming freshmen at Centenary College have worked up a sweat ahead of fall semester that begins Wednesday. The students cleaned out a house in Shreveport on Monday as part of a new partnership with Community Renewal International and two other organizations. Centenary president David Rowe worked alongside the students.

Centenary College adopts Yellow Ribbon program

Centenary College in Shreveport affirmed its commitment to the Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program at a Veterans Day program. Yellow Ribbon schools help students avoid up to all out-of-pocket tuition and fees associated with education programs that may exceed the Post 9/11 GI Bill tuition benefit. Centenary president David Rowe said post 9/11 veterans and their dependents will not pay tuition to attend the college.
