Life By The Drop: Drought, Water and the Future of Texas

America's Music Festivals: Rockport Chamber

Airs Monday, July 2 at 11:00 a.m.  Classical music takes the plunge with the Rockport Music Festival each summer. The seaside village of Rockport, Massachusetts boasts one of the most beautiful settings for classical music ever, the Shalin Liu Performance Center. This recently built concert hall features enormous floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto the Atlantic Ocean onstage, so one can see and hear all the beauty that Rockport has to offer. The festival features classical concerts, as well as jazz, world and pop performances throughout the summer series.

Airs Monday, July 2 at 8:00 p.m.  Ghosts, ghouls, shades from the past ... in this episode of Radiolab, real-life people try to pin down, and make peace with, mysterious figures that haunt them, prod them, and fade out of existence. One man finds a way to put the beatdown on his personal bogey man, a dead monk spurs a king to build a perfect prayer machine, an unknown face launches a thousand dummies (actually, a whole lot more than that), and a skeptic goes on a one-way to journey to find out whether spirits exist.

Regional Symphony Broadcast: The 2012 Shreveport Summer Music Festival

Airs Friday, June 29 at 12:00 noon. The first concert of the Shreveport Summer Music Festival Classical Series, a memorial for music patron Wayne Hall, took place on Sunday, June 3 at the Church of the Holy Cross. The concert featured scores written by Kermit Poling and Thomas Hundemer. Leonard Kacenjar and Kermit Poling conduct.
