Also on the program Rachmaninoff's The Isle of the Dead and the Symphony No. 6 by Prokofiev as well as an archival performance of Bernstein's Symphonic Dances from West Side Story.

Red River Radio is pleased to bring back the Cleveland Orchestra for another superb season of broadcast concerts from the orchestra's home at Severance Hall in Cleveland and from concerts performed around the country and the world. On this week's concert we'll hear conductor Christoph von Dohnanyi who will be joined by soprano Megan Miller, mezzo-soprano Tamara Mumford, tenor Eric Cutler, and bass Iain Paterson along with the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus in Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in d, Op. 125 “Choral.” The concert opens with Ligeti's Atmospheres followed by Wagner's Prelude to Act I of Lohengrin.
