Airs Monday, July 31, 2017, at 1 p.m. The San Francisco Symphony continues its season of broadcast concerts as violinist Leonidas Kavakos is featured in the Violin Concerto in D minor by Jean Sibelius in a concert that opens with the The Swan of Tuonela by Sibelius closes with Claude Debussy's Nocturnes. Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas conducts and will also lead the orchestra in Schumann's Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major, Opus 97, his "Rhenish" symphony.

Airs Saturday, September 24, at 12 noon. This week the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and Chorus are featured in a double bill with Gordon Getty's Usher House and Claude Debussy's La Chute de la Maison Usher starring Brian Mulligan as Roderick Usher, Jason Bridges as Edgar Allan Poe, and Jacqueline Piccolino as Madeline Usher / Lady Madeline, with Anthony Reed as Doctor Primus, Joel Sorensen as Le Médecin, and Edward Nelson as L'Ami. The San Francisco Opera Orchestra and Chorus are under the direction of Lawrence Foster.

Airs Monday, May 27 at 11 a.m. This week Nikolaj Znaider takes the podium and is joined by pianist Emanual Ax for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 22  with Encores of Claude Debussy’s “Pagodes” from Estampes  and Franz Schubert’s Impromptu in A flat, Op. 142, No. 2. The concert will also feature Richard Wagner’s “Prelude und Liebestod” from Tristan und Isolde and Edward Elgar’s Enigma Variations.
