Also on the concert program are the Psalm and Fugue for String Orchestra by Alan Hovanness, Copland's Suite from The Tender Land, and the Russian Easter Festival Overture by Rimsky-Korsakov’s Russian Easter Festival Overture.

Michael Butterman conducts this concert which opens with Beethoven's Symphony No. 4 and also features the Centenary College Choir in a performance of Beethoven's Choral Fantasy. Kermit Poling spoke with flutist Katherine Kemler about the next Shreveport Symphony Orchestra concert which opens with Jon Lord's work "To Notice Such Things"  and will conclude with Mozart's Requiem Mass with soprano Jane Redding, mezzo-soprano Lauren McNeese, Tenor John Viscardi, baritone Grant Youngblood, along with the Centenary College Choir and the NSU chamber choir.
