Alexandria Museum of Art acquires state art collection

The Alexandria Museum of Art is expanding its collection of Louisiana art. Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne will announce the transfer of state-owned art at a news conference Tuesday, June 16.

Alexandria Museum of Art eyes new works for its collection

Alexandria native Cullen Washington, Jr.'s "Caped Crusader" is on display at the Alexandria Museum of Art as part of its "Trio: Beyond Boundaries" exhibit.

A new exhibit at the Alexandria Museum of Art features three artists who have Louisiana roots and have distinguished themselves on a national level.  The exhibit, “Trio: Beyond Boundaries,” celebrates the success of three African American artists: Malaika Favorite, Phoenix Savage and Alexandria native Cullen Washington Jr.

Museum executive director Catherine Pears says the museum keeps an eye on Louisiana artists who are making their mark in the art world.
