Maginnis: La. economy stable if lawmakers 'do no harm'

He said Louisiana is faring OK amid a still sluggish U.S. economy.

A new wedding resource center in Bossier City compiles lists of local vendors for couples who are planning and budgeting for their big day. Kay Loftin, owner of Our Wedding Library, says her resource center is free to brides and based on ones she's visited in California.

American Petroleum Institute adviser: Haynesville Shale gas well-positioned for export

In an interview with Red River Radio, the American Petroleum Institute's Rayola Dougher voiced support for Cheniere Energy's proposed liquefied natural gas plant in South Louisiana. She said the Haynesville Shale gas field is perfectly positioned to the LNG export market.

El Dorado looks to buy plant simulator to train local workforce

The El Dorado City Council will consider next week whether to purchase a machine that would simulate processes at chemical plants and refineries. The $300,000 pilot plant would be housed at South Arkansas Community College.
