The Lyric Opera of Chicago continues this week with a performance of Les Troyens by Hector Berlioz starring Christine Goerke as Cassandre; Susan Graham as Didon; Brandon Jovanovich as Énée; Lucas Meachem as Chorèbe; Christian Van Horn as Narbal; and Okka von der Damerau as Anna. The director is Tim Albery, the chorus master is Michael Black, and the Lyric Opera Orchestra and Chorus are conducted by Sir Andrew Davis.

The 2016-17 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with Kristine Opolais starring in her first Met broadcast of her breakthrough role, the title character in Dvořák’s Rusalka. The dark love story about a water nymph and a human man, derived in large part from Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Little Mermaid,” will also star Jamie Barton in her network role debut as the witch Ježibaba, with Katarina Dalayman as the Foreign Princess, Brandon Jovanovich as the Prince, and Eric Owens as Rusalka’s father, the Water Gnome.

Airs Saturday, September 3, at 12 noon. This week the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and Chorus are featured in Wagner's Die Meistersinger starring James Rutherford as hans Sachs, Brandon Jovanovich as Walther von Stolzing, Rachel Willis-Sørensen as Eva, and Sasha Cooke as Magdalene.

Airs Saturday, July 9, at 12 noon. In our final season performance from the Lyric Opera of Chicago we'll hear Antonin Dvorák's Rusalka staring Ana María Martínez in the title role and Brandon Jovanovich as the Prince, with Jill Grove as Jezibaba, Eric Owens as Vodnik, and Ekaterina Gubanova as Foreign Princess. Sir David McVicar directs, Michael Black is our chorus master and Sir Andrew Davis leads the Lyric OperaOrchestr and Chorus in this performance.
