Veteran game developers and up-and-coming college-level computer programmers and artists will converge for the first Game Jam in Bossier City. The 44-hour video game development marathon is being held in conjunction with DigiFest South. Shreveport software engineer Nolan Baker expects about 50 people will participate.

A new wedding resource center in Bossier City compiles lists of local vendors for couples who are planning and budgeting for their big day. Kay Loftin, owner of Our Wedding Library, says her resource center is free to brides and based on ones she's visited in California.

The Fuller Center for Housing of Northwest Louisiana is taking its home building ministry to Bossier City. Two homes will go up there over the summer. Executive director Lee Jeter says he wants home ownership to be possible in every neighborhood where people live in poverty.

Andrew Upshaw graduated from Stephen F. Austin State. He is the first collegiate angler to compete in the "Super Bowl" fishing competition, the Bassmaster Classic in Bossier City, Feb. 24-26.

The Red River National Wildlife Refuge's new 9,000-square-foot facility will be a launch pad for refuge activities, including hiking, bird watching and berry picking. Officials say thousands of schoolchildren will use the refuge's new educational wing.
