Bossier Arts Council

A Hot Springs, Arkansas, still life artist who builds origami dragon scenes as the basis for his paintings will give an artist workshop Monday at the Bossier Arts Council Annex in Bossier City.

Bastrop, La.-native Daniel Mark Cassity will show other artists how he accomplishes his glazing technique. Cassity says it’s a long, slow process that requires immense patience.

The Bossier Arts Council is helping artists bridge the gap between their creative product and the business of getting their work into the marketplace and on exhibit.

Twice monthly, the Bossier Arts Council holds a Saturday workshop called an Artist One Stop. It aims to help all types of artists create a polished presence in a digital world and manage the business side of their art.

The Bossier Arts Council announced it will launch DigiFest South, a digital arts festival and technology career fair set for Sept. 6-9 at the Bossier Civic Center. Organizers aim to draw thousands of people to the event that will bring together digital media artists and tech industry professionals working in areas like animation and digital effects.
