Airs Saturday, February 11, at 12 noon. The 2016-17 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a revival of Bizet’s Carmen starring mezzo-soprano Clémentine Margaine in her network broadcast debut as the title character, a role she has sung to acclaim around the world. Tenor Roberto Aronica is the gypsy’s jealous lover, Don José, with soprano Maria Agresta as the devoted Micaëla and bass-baritone Kyle Ketelsen as the swaggering toreador Escamillo. Asher Fisch conducts the performance.

Airs Saturday, October 8, at 12 noon. This week the San Francisco Opera Orchestra and Chorus are featured in George Bizet's Carmen staring Irene Roberts in the title role and Brian Jagde as Don José, with Ellie Dehn as Micaëla, and Zachary Nelson as Escamillo. The San Francisco Opera Orchestra and Chorus will be under the direction of Carlo Montanaro with Ian Robertson as Chorus Master and Stage Direction by Calixto Bieito.

Airs Saturday, January 16, 12 p.m. The 2015-16 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Bizet’s Les Pêcheurs de Perles (The Pearl Fishers), a rarity by the composer of Carmen that has not been seen at the Met in nearly a century. The opera, conducted by Gianandrea Noseda, tells the story of two friends, pearl divers who are both in love with a beautiful Hindu priestess.

Airs Saturday, March 7, at 12 noon. The 2014-15 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Bizet’s Carmen, starring Elīna Garanča as the gypsy seductress and Jonas Kaufmann as her jealous lover, Don José. American soprano Ailyn Pérez and Hungarian bass Gábor Bretz make their network broadcast debuts as the country girl Micaëla and the toreador Escamillo, and Louis Langrée conducts. Carmen will be heard live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 1:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, March 7.

LA Opera

Airs Saturday, August 2 at 12 noon. This week the LA Opera presents the sultry, love fueled opera Carmen by George Bizet featuring Patricia Bardon as Carmen, with Brandon Jovanovich as Don José, Pretty Yende as Micaëla, Ildebrando D’Arcangelo as Escamillo, with Valentin Anikin as Zuniga, Daniel Armstrong in the role of Moralès, Hae Ji Chang as Frasquita, and Cassandra Zoé Velasco as Mercédès. Plácido Domingo leads the LA Opera Orchestra and Chorus in this production.
