Our opera season continues this summer with the Lyric Opera of Chicago's Giacomo Puccini's Turandot starring Amber Wagner as Turandot, Patrick Guetti as A Mandarin, Andrea Silvestrelli as Timur, Stefano La Colla as Calaf, and Maria Agresta as Liù. This production also features Geoffrey Agpalo, Zachary Nelson, Rodell Rosel, Keith Jameson, Desirée Hassler, Stephanie Schoenhofer, and Josh Lovell. Sir Andrew Davis leads the Lyric Opera of Chicago orchestra in this production.

This week The Lyric Opera of Chicago presents Tannhäuser by Richard Wagner starring Johan Botha in the title role and Amber Wagner as Elisabeth, with Michaela Schuster as Venus, Gerald Finley as Wolfram, and John Relyea as Landgraf. Sir Andrew Davis leads the Lyric Opera Orchestra and Chorus with Stage Direction from Tim Albery and our chorus master is Michael Black.

Airs Saturday, April 29, 2017, at 12 noon. The 2016-17 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with Der Fliegende Holländer – The Flying Dutchman – the first Wagner opera that future Met Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin is conducting with the company. The opera, which has not been heard on a live Saturday broadcast since 2000, features baritone Michael Volle as the Dutchman, the ghostly sailor damned to sail the seas in search of the love that will set him free.

This week from the Lyric Opera of Chicago we present Richard Wagner's Tannhäuser, starring Johan Botha as Tannhäuser and Amber Wagner as  Elisabeth, with Michaela Schuster as Venus, Gerald Finley as Wolfram, and John Relyea as Landgraf. Sir Andrew Davis conducts the Lyric Opera orchestra and chorus. Suzanne Nance will host and is joined by guest commentator Roger Pines.

This week on the Lyric Opera of Chicago we present Verdi's Il Trovatore featuring Andrea Silvestrelli as Ferrando; J’nai Bridges as Inez; Amber Wagner as Leonora; and Quinn Kelsey as Count Di Luna. This production also features Yonghoon Lee in the roll of Manrico, with Stephanie Blythe as Azucena; Kenneth Nichols as An Old Gypsy; Timothy Bradley as A Messenger; and Jonathan Johnson as Ruiz. Asher Fisch will lead the Lyric Opera Orchestra and Chorus and Suzanne Nance will host with guest commentator Roger Pines.
