This week from the Lyric Opera of Chicago they will perform Der Rosenkavalier by Richard Strauss starring Sophie Koch as Octavian, Amanda Majeski as Marschallin, Christina Landshamer as Sophie, and Matthew Rose as Baron Ochs, with Martin Gantner as Faninal, Rene Barbera as A Singer, Megan Marino as Annia, and Rodell Rosel as Valzacchi. Michael Black is the chorus master, Marina Weber directs and the Lyric Opera Orchestra and Chorus is under the direction of Edward Gardner.

Airs Saturday, May 14, at 12 noon. The Lyric Opera of Chicago Broadcasts return with opening night productions, following the end of the Metropolitan Opera season. This week we present The Marriage of Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Airs Saturday, March 26, at 12 noon. The 2015-16 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a live broadcast of Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro – The Marriage of Figaro. Met Principal Conductor Fabio Luisi leads a cast that includes three artists who are singing their roles at the Met for the first time this season: Mikhail Petrenko as Figaro; Anita Hartig as his fiancée, the clever maid Susanna; and Luca Pisaroni as their employer, the lecherous Count Almaviva.

Lyric Opera Of Chicago

Airs Saturday, July 5 at 12 noon.  This week we present the final performance from the Lyric Opera of Chicago 2014 season with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's La Clemenza Di Tito (in Italian) featuring Matthew Polenzani as Tito with Joyce DiDonato as Sesto, Amanda Majeski as Vitellia, Cecelia Hall as Anno, Emily Birsan as Servilia, and Christian Van Horn as Publio. Sir David McVicar directs and Sir Andrew Davis will lead the cast, Orchestra and Chorus of the Lyric Opera of Chicago in this performance.

Airs Saturday, June 22 at 12 noon. This week tyhe Lyric Opera of Chicago presenst a Wagner masterpiece with Die Meistersinger (in German) staring James Morris as Hans Sachs with Johan Botha as Stolzing, Amanda Majeski as Eva, Bo Skovhus as Beckmesser, David Portillo as David and Jamie Barton as Magdalene.
